While a concrete slab is best for long-term use, other foundations like pavers, gravel, brick or wood decking are acceptable.   

Always put your hot tub on a structurally sound, level within ½" per 10’ surface. Make certain that the location you choose can support the weight of your filled hot tub. A reinforced concrete pad at least four inches thick is suggested.  

For a deck installation, you must know the deck’s maximum load capacity. Consult a qualified building contractor or structural engineer before you place the hot tub on an elevated deck or indoors.

If you own the Freeflow Mini model, you'll need the 25 sq ft filter. If you own any other Freeflow model, you'll use the 50 sq ft filter.

All Freeflow spas are Plug-N-Play, which means no special wiring required! They are 110v spas that use a standard outlet. Do not use an extension cord! This will void your warranty. However, if you want to run the jets and heater on high at the same time, you may want to convert to 230v. Please consult your local Freeflow Spas dealer for more information.

All Freeflow spa models come standard as a 110v Plug-N-Play hot tub and can be plugged into a dedicated standard 110v, 15 amp GFCI protected outlet. Your spa also requires a 15 amp single receptacle with an outdoor-rated, weather-resistant receptacle cover plate. 

For your safety, when your electrician is installing the electrical outlet, it should be no closer than five feet and no farther than ten feet from the hot tub. The power cord extends approximately 12 feet but keep in mind that the cord is located on the front of the spa. Never connect your spa to an extension cord, this will void your warranty.

All Freeflow Spa models come standard as a 110v plug-n-play hot tub and can be plugged into a dedicated standard 110v outlet. If you choose to convert to 220v, the spa must be hard wired to your household electrical service box by a licensed electrician. 

When the spa is setup for 110V, the heater will provide approximately 1000 watts of heat only when the pump is operating in LOW speed and the thermostat is calling for heat (NOTE: The heater does not operate when the pump is on high speed). 

When the spa is connected to 110V 30 amp, the heater will provide approximately 1000 watts of heat when the pump is operating in LOW or HIGH speed and the thermostat is calling for heat (installation requires an electrician). 

When the spa is connected to 220 volts, the heater will provide approximately 4000 watts of heat when the pump is operating in LOW or HIGH speed and the thermostat is calling for heat (installation requires an electrician). 

The minimum temperature you can set the hot tub to is 80-degrees. However, you can unplug it so that it does not heat at all and refill it with your garden hose so that the temperature will be a mix between your hose water temperature and ambient air temperature.  

Freeflow spas come ready for the FROG® @ease Sanitizing System. Purchase the FROG® @ease Start-Up Water Care Kit and simply place the two prefilled cartridges in your filter basket. The prefilled cartridges automatically release sanitizer and minerals to keep water soft, clean, and clear with less effort. Shop FROG water care products that fit your spa at your local Freeflow retailer.

FILTER CYCLES There are two filter cycles: the first cycle (F1) starts right after power up and the second cycle (F2) will start 12 hours later. The default duration for the first filter cycle is 1 hour, and 30 minutes for the second cycle. Filter cycles only run at low speed. The “Filter” indicator lights up when a filter cycle is on. The duration of each filter cycle can be modified. Filter duration is programmable between 0.5 and 6 hours in 30 minute increments (0.5 hours) for both filter cycles. To program the cycle times follow the steps below:

1. Press and hold Program Mode button for 5 seconds until F1 is displayed. 

2. Press the Plus or Minus button to adjust the cycle time for F1. 

3. Press the Program Mode button to store the F1 cycle and move to the F2 cycle. 

4. Press the Plus or Minus button to adjust the cycle time for F2. 

5. Wait 15 seconds to allow the exit timer to expire and store the setting.

No, we do not recommend using saltwater or salt systems with Freeflow Spas. They were not designed for the salt environment and may corrode depending on the system used and the water parameters maintained. Any resulting chemical damage to the spa will void the warranty. 

1. Every Week: Balance your water.

2. Every Month: Clean your filter by using a garden hose with a spray nozzle.  

3. Every 3-6 Months: Fully drain your water and replace it with new water.

4. Every 6-8 Months: Replace your filter. All Freeflow Spas models, except the Freeflow Mini, use the 50 sq ft filter. The 2-person Freeflow Mini uses the 25 sq ft filter. 

Draining your hot tub is simple, follow these 3 steps: 

1. Pull the hose bib out a few inches from the hot tub (located in the recess under the control panel).
2. Unscrew and remove the drain cap.
3. If you want to direct the water elsewhere, attach a garden hose to the hose bib and redirect the water to an appropriate draining area.

To clean your hot tub first drain it and then use a soft cloth and a mild dish soap to wipe stained spots away. Do not use any solvents or abrasive cleaners to clean the hot tub.  

The spa uses a screw in filter cartridge that is easily removed.  

1. Turn off the power to the spa, (by turning OFF the subpanel breaker).
2. Push down slightly and turn the weir and the basket until it reaches the release tabs then pull the basket and weir out.
3. Unscrew the filter counterclockwise and bring it out of the spa (requires many turns).

If you need to replace your filter, you can purchase a new one here. All models accept for the 2-person Mini take the 50 sq ft filter. The Mini takes the 25 sq ft filter. 

Your filter should be replaced every 6-8 months or earlier when needed. You can order a replacement filter online or through your local dealer. All models except the 2-person Mini accept the 50 sq ft filter, the Mini accepts the 25 sq ft filter.  

If you own the Mini model it accepts the 25 sq ft filter. If you own any other model it accepts the 50 sq ft filter.

With some simple steps, you can extend the life of your cover. 

1. Clean your cover every 1-3 months with a quick rinse from the garden hose and a mild, pH balanced detergent to wipe it clean. 
2. Inspect your cover regularly, checking for tears and rips. Don’t forget the underside of the cover! Be on the look out for possible signs of mildew. Leave the cover open for at least 20 minutes a week to prevent mildew build up. 
3. Keep pets, children, and anything else off the cover. 
4. Use a cover lifter to avoid putting undue stress on any part of the cover. It also keeps the cover off the ground, preventing potential damage done by coming in contact with a tough surface. 
5. Keep your water balanced. Too much chlorine can bleach the bottom of the cover, weakening the material and making it easier to rip and start getting water-logged. 
6. Keep the top of your hot tub cover dry. If possible, place your hot tub in an area protected by direct sunlight, weather or snow to minimize extreme weather wear and tear. 

Even with the best possible preventative maintenance, your cover will need to be replaced every 3-5 years. When it comes time to replace it, reach out to your local Freeflow Spas retailer. 

Hot tub covers should last between 3-5 years. Over time, you will notice some wear and tear, especially if you live in an area with extreme weather conditions or changing conditions.  

If you see visible tears, your cover may become saturated with water and the insulation can no longer do its job. It also becomes extremely heavy, making it difficult to take on or off when it’s time to soak. 

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms with your current spa cover, please contact your local Freeflow Spas retailer to purchase a replacement cover. 

We find it helpful to sit on your hot tub step with the access panel resting on the front of your feet. Align the panel as best as you can, then press up on the panel with your hands and toes at the same time. Once you have it in line, hold the panel in place using your toes while you start to screw into the existing screw holes.

If you are leaving your house for an extended period, especially over the winter months, you’ll want to winterize your hot tub. Follow these 5 steps below: 

1. Drain your hot tub. 

First, turn off your hot tub and unplug it. Coil up the power cord and wrap the plug-in plastic, placing it inside the equipment compartment. Then open the drain spigot and let the water out. While it’s draining, open all adjustable jets and air valves, allowing for better drainage. 

2. Wipe down excess water. 

If you have water left anywhere in your hot tub, make sure to get it out with a bucket or soak it up with towels. 

3. Release water from equipment compartment. 

Below the control panel, you will find your equipment compartment. Inside the compartment, loosen and release the water from your heating element and pump housing. The large, plastic, white unions that attach your heater and pump(s) to the rest of the spa should also be loosened until all water is out. You should also open any drain plugs your pump housing may have. 

4. Close the air venturi valves. 

Next, close or turn off any air valves. Your system will most likely still have some residual water in it, so it is a good idea to use the blowing end of a shop vacuum and blow air into the jets for a few seconds at each jet and the opening of the filter. Be sure to remove your filter and leave it out all winter. 

5. Seal the hot tub and turn off power. 

By this step, most of the water should be out of your system. Place your cover back on and secure it tightly. Close your equipment compartment and re-attach any screws or latches. Make sure the power to the hot tub is turned off at the house breaker.

The warranty is valid for the original consumer purchaser of the Freeflow spa only and begins on the date of installation of the hot tub, but not later than one year from the date of purchase. The warranty terminates upon any transfer of ownership, or if the hot tub is installed or relocated outside the country of purchase by the original consumer purchaser prior to the expiration of the warranty period.
